The Broadway revival of On a Clear Day You Can See Forever will play its final performance on January 29 at the St. James Theatre. Starring Tony nominee Harry Connick Jr., the musical will have played 29 preview performances and 57 regular performances at the time of closing.
Directed by Tony winner Michael Mayer, On a Clear Day is a newly updated version of the original 1965 Broadway production. The book is rewritten by Peter Parnell, and the production features additional songs from the show's 1970 film adaptation, as well as tunes from original composers Burton Lane and Alan Jay Lerner's film score for Royal Wedding. The revival, set in New York City in 1974, is the story of a no-nonsense psychiatrist who falls head over heels with his male patient’s former self— a magnetic female jazz singer.
On a Clear Day also features Jessie Mueller, David Turner, Kerry O’Malley, Drew Gehling, Sarah Stiles, Paul O’Brien, Heather Ayers and Lori Wilner.
